The order
In order01PrepTake washed chicken, apply salt, haldi, red chilly powder, if u have garam masala put that, ginger and garlic paste, little dahi (optional).
02Hands offMarrinate for some time.
03PrepThen cut onions very fine and tomatoes.
04PrepPut oil in the vessel, put hing, put 2 lavan, pepper 4, dalchuni one piece and tamal patra.
05PrepThen add the cut onion, fry it for sometime — do not burn, just little transparent.
06PrepThen add cut tomatoes, fry little, don't overcook.
07PrepThen add the marinated chicken, let it mix for a while, then add water and cook till done.
08PrepIf u have coriander, cut and apply to the chicken. It's ready to eat.

Her whole-spice names are left in Marathi — lavan, dalchuni, tamal patra — with the English alongside them in the pantry rather than substituted into her text.
